The DF83 2026 Single Dose Red Burrs Espresso Coffee Grinder combines professional-sized 83 mm flat burrs with a powerful motor, making it suitable for demanding home users, offices and smaller commercial environments. Although primarily optimised for espresso, its wide adjustment range also allows it to be used for filter coffee and coarser brewing methods.

The grinder is equipped with 83 mm Red Titanium, TiCN-coated steel flat burrs. Their large diameter allows coffee beans to be processed quickly, while the espresso-focused burr geometry is designed to produce grounds suitable for full-bodied shots with a rich texture and clearly defined flavour characteristics.

The burrs are driven by a powerful 550 W AC motor, operating at a fixed speed of approximately 1,400 rpm. Its high torque provides stable performance even when grinding dense, light-roasted coffee beans, while the large burr surface helps reduce grinding time.

The stepless micrometric grind adjustment system allows the grind size to be fine-tuned without fixed adjustment steps. This is particularly important for espresso preparation, where even a minor adjustment can significantly affect flow rate, extraction time and the resulting flavour profile.

The upgraded burr-carrier system supports the upper burr with four guide posts and four individual springs. This construction provides greater stability and helps maintain burr alignment, contributing to consistent grinding performance and reliable adjustment retention.

The DF83 uses a single-dose workflow, meaning that only the amount of coffee required for the next preparation is loaded into the grinder. Its redesigned grinding chamber, direct grounds path and bellows-equipped lid help minimise the amount of coffee remaining inside the grinder, making it easier to switch between different coffees.

An integrated plasma generator reduces static electricity in the grounds chute, helping to minimise coffee particles sticking to the grinder or scattering around the dosing area. This provides cleaner dosing and a tidier workflow.

The built-in anti-popcorn insert prevents coffee beans from bouncing inside the dosing chamber during the final stage of grinding. This promotes a steadier feed into the burrs and helps the grinder process the complete dose efficiently.

The included 58 mm metal dosing cup allows the ground coffee to be transferred neatly and accurately into a portafilter. Its robust metal housing and substantial 12.8 kg weight provide excellent stability during regular and intensive use.
