CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
1. Disconnect the appliance from power and wait until it has completely cooled down.
2. Moisten a soft cloth and wipe the surface of the coffee maker.
3. Remove the portafilter and remove the coffee grounds. Rinse the filter basket with water.
4. Wipe the steam nozzle and check that nothing is stuck inside it.
5. Clean the group head and its internal gasket with a cleaning brush specifically intended for this purpose.
6. Rinse every accessory with water and let them dry.
IMPORTANT! During cleaning, do not use alcohol or any other solvent, and do not immerse the appliance in water.
REMOVING RESIDUAL MINERALS
1. To ensure that the appliance operates as perfectly as possible and that every prepared coffee has a balanced flavour profile, the internal water tubes must be kept clean. For this purpose, the machine is equipped with a descaling reminder. After every 500 uses (coffee preparation + steaming), the reminder turns on. The display automatically shows "CLN". Regardless of this, the machine can still prepare coffee or steam. If the following steps are completed, the machine automatically restarts the reminder counter.
2. Descaling ratio: place the descaler into the water tank and fill it with water up to the MAX marking. This means approx. 1.7 L of liquid in total, where the water:descaler ratio is 4:1. Also read the instructions for the descaler specifically recommended for coffee machines.
3. Descaling steps:
- Descaling the coffee boiler: Press the ON/OFF button and wait until the coffee preparation button lights continuously. Press the manual coffee preparation button. Water will then flow from the group head for approx. 1 minute. Press the manual coffee preparation button again to stop the water flow.
- Descaling the steam thermoblock: after descaling the coffee boiler, press and hold the manual coffee preparation button. The CLN text will flash on the display. The manual coffee preparation button will light continuously, while the other buttons will flash. Turn the steam knob; water will start to flow from the steam wand for approx. 1 minute, then it will stop. The touch screen will show "E-6". Turn off the steam knob. Repeat this process 2–3 times.
- Draining excess water: Press the manual coffee preparation button; water will start to flow from the group head. Leave it running until all descaling solution has passed through the group head.
- Clean the water tank, then fill it with water up to the MAX marking. Repeat the descaling steps once more. Afterwards, dispense hot water from the machine until all water in the coffee boiler has flowed out.
- Repeat the cleaning steps described above at least 3 times so that the internal water tubes are completely clean.
